The previous approach to diesel conversion was to totally replace diesel with lpg. This did not work very well. We are actively looking into alternative lpg adaptions for diesel engines. Once we have trailed a successful method we will be rolling it out.
Everyone loves saving money. Especially saving your hard earned money from the clutches of the Chancellor. With an LPG conversion you can now save over half your fuel costs. As LPG is an environmentally friendly fuel it produces fewer harmful pollutants, furthermore cars running on LPG make less noise. There are further benefits such as lower road tax.
Your car will have reduced engine wear. LPG cars sell for a premium just like diesel they are therefore easier to sell and more likely to hold their value.
My car has engine warranty does installing an LPG kit void this warranty?
Car manufacturers provide cars which run on LPG so voiding the warranty is not because of the technology. Our LPG kits are a proven technology, if installing the LPG kit voids your engine warranty, you can purchase engine warranty cover backed by leading insurance companies.
Are there grants available to help with the cost of my conversion?
Grants are no longer available, but for most motorists this should not make much difference. Until recently the Government/Powershift used to give grants to certain vehicles towards the cost of the conversion. Although this sounded good, because of the strict criteria used, most vehicles were not eligible. Of those that were, the approved LPG systems that had to be used tended to be more expensive to begin with, thus making the savings negligible in many cases. As a rule of thumb, if you drive more than 10,000 miles per year, an LPG conversion will still be very viable.
LPG has been used as a fuel in millions of vehicles all over the world. In the UK there are over 100,000 cars running on LPG. LPG is as safe as petrol if not more so for the following reasons:-
The LPG system and tanks we use are all UK and European LPG standards compliant. These standards include EN 67R01. Furthermore the tanks are tested to extremes of pressure and a test known as the "bonfire" test. This test makes sure that the tanks will not explode but only discharge gas in a controlled manner if the surrounding temperature increases due to fire or any other reason.
Our Sequential LPG systems constantly monitor the engine and makes sure that the LPG is supplied efficiently and that the car runs more smoothly and environmentally cleaner.
There are a number of reasons why we think we are the right company to convert your car.
We have access to professional MOT compliant gas testers and engine management software. We therefore thoroughly check vehicles prior to LPG kit installation. This assures both you and us that the car is ready for LPG installation and makes sure we have a smooth and problem free conversion. Other installers do not go to this expense which leads to problem installations.
Our kits carry a two (2) year warranty^ against defects. This is a manufacturer backed warranty.
We thoroughly test your vehicle once our kit is installed.
We have full insurance cover whilst driving your vehicle. Make sure other companies go to this expense to safeguard your vehicle.
Once tested your vehicle will be issued with a certificate of conformity** which most insurance companies expect to see in order to provide cover.
I have heard that LPG systems causes problems like backfiring does your system suffer from these types of issues?
The older single point injection system (which we do not sell) due to its design had problems such as backfire and performance issues. We only use ALDESA RSI (Real sequential injection) And Voltran/Vogas Sequential Injection systems which do not suffer from backfire problems.
The conversion takes on average a few days. Vehicles such as Limousines will take longer to convert and we will let you know conversion time when you contact us.
Not necessarily, a standard cylinder tank is usually fitted in the boot space but with most vehicles you can opt for a tyre well tank that takes the space of your spare wheel or even an under slung tank providing there is enough ground clearance.
As we only use Multipoint Sequential Injection systems unlike older systems which suffered from power issues at higher revs and when under load, your car should not experience any noticeable difference when running on LPG. Our Multi Sequential Injection LPG systems injectors behave as closely as possible when compared to the cars petrol injectors. This means that our kits have power as well as economy at vital times such as when the car is under load, or at higher end of the rev range
How do I know when the car needs to be refilled with LPG?
The car will have a fuel indicator for LPG just as in the case for petrol. This LPG fuel indicator is fitted to the dashboard of the car in a position clearly visible to the driver. The indicator consists of a row of LED's that show the current level of gas in the tank. A button on the indicator allows the driver to manually switch between petrol and LPG.
